Tidbits 10/19

A new 40 second promo for Clay's appearance on Are You Smarter Than A 5th Grader has popped up on YouTube... check it out below:

  • More Spamalot news ... this is sure getting a lot of attention on the web!
    • AOL Money posted the press release
    • Foxes on Idol -
In case you haven’t heard, Clay Aiken will join the Broadway cast of Monty Python's Spamalot on January 18, 2008. Clay will take on the role of Sir Robin, which was originally played by David Hyde Pierce. He will be with the production through May 4. The Tony Award-winning musical is playing at the Shubert Theatre (225 W. 45th St.).
    • Minneapolis St. Paul Star Tribune -
Clay Aiken is joining the Broadway cast of "Monty Python's Spamalot" in mid-January.
  • Canada's Globe & Mail - FOX to debut "Next Great American Band" with American Idol format -
Sometimes it seems like everyone in America craves the fast-track climb to the top of the music heap. The star-making machinery of American Idol has given the world such instant pop sensations as Kelly Clarkson, Clay Aiken and Taylor Hicks. Now come the garage bands.
  • Daily Herald - another article about FOX's new show -
Loyal readers know I'm no fan of the most popular program on TV. "American Idol," in my humble opinion, has contributed to the collapse of the music industry by championing singers who use cheap melisma in place of genuine emotion while trafficking in the tired old standards of yesteryear. No authentic or even remotely innovative artist has a chance of winning "American Idol." Instead, it foists off well-meaning hacks like Clay Aiken, Fantasia Barrino and Taylor Hicks as stars.
  • Christmas tour mentions: Scranton Times Tribune, Wichita Eagle, Northwest Herald
LBFCA - the broads are at it again! Joining Clay Aiken on Broadway with "Eggs, Tomato and Spam"

  • Taking A Moment looking for your "Clayish" questions -
There was an awful lot of Clay-news this week, what with me totally predicting Spamalot, him blogging, him posting, and even Clay going into chat which NOBODY bothered to tell me to get to while he was still there, by the way.

*Takes a Moment to be Moderately Pissed*

Ok, I'm over it, I think.

Anyway, apparently there were lots and lots of questions for Clay that he didn't get around to before everybody scared him off, so I'd like to take this time to try to answer some of your Clay-related questions myself.
