Clays Posts on Official Fanclub

Clay posted his reaction to the news of sales estimates for OMWH that came out today. The CB's nebclayfan recapped what Clay said, which cannot be quoted directly because it is from the fanclub:

Clay just posted a long post about the sales number on the OFC in the message board part in the topic that Jaymes started. Basically, said don't blaim the label or the publicity people. That they weren't sure they could get the cd done and so could not ask 3 months in advance to be on shows. They had asked DWTS and AI but that with the competion being so tight, it is very hard to get on those shows. He said the publicity people have worked hard to get him on what he is going to be on. He said he knows that we are his best publicity, that he loves us but does not want us to point fingers. He is disappointed in the totals too, but it may turn around.

Official Fanclub Launches New Website, Year 3 Memberships

The official fanclub today launched an exciting new website, packed with more ways for fans to communicate and interact with each other. Current year 2 members will have until next Tuesday to sign up for year 3 membership.

01/18/08 YEAR 3 OF THE CLAY AIKEN OFFICIAL FAN CLUB IS FINALLY HERE!

Welcome to an all new year of the Clay Aiken Official Fan Club, packed with new community features and an all new welcome package!

You will notice many changes to the site with the launch of Year 3. Here are some important things to note:

1) Your email address is now required to login to the fan club. You can no longer login with your username.

2) With the relaunch of Year 3 coming a bit late, several memberships were extended to prevent them from expiring before a new package was offered. Now that the Year 3 package has arrived, those memberships will be coming up for renewal. To give everyone a chance to see the new site and consider whether they would like to purchase the new Year 3 membership, we have decided to extend all memberships that are currently past their one year subscription term by one additional week. Therefore, those memberships will begin to expire on Tuesday January 29, 2008. Please login into the fan club and click on HELP from the gray navigation bar and take note of your subscription’s expiration date listed on this page.

3) Should your membership expire, you will NOT lose any content you have contributed to the site, including blog posts, comments and message board posts. You can renew at anytime and your account will be reactivated as long as you signup using the SAME EMAIL ADDRESS that you currently use to access the site.

4) Although we do not anticipate any problems, there are bound to be some questions about the new site. If you are experiencing any issues and need assistance, please contact customer support by clicking the ‘Need help?’ button from the fan club sign in page. The new site is using some of the latest in web technology, so please be sure to check the Software Requirements section listed on the help page to make sure you have the latest in supported browser technology.

Thank you to everyone for your support this last year. We hope that you all enjoy the new site and join us again for Year 3 of the Clay Aiken Official Fan Club!

Official Fanclub Email for Spamalot

The Official Fanclub has sent out an email promoting Clay in Spamalot.

Mark your calendars, Claymates! Clay Aiken will make his Broadway debut as Sir Robin in Monty Python’s SPAMALOT on January 18th, 2008. Clay will be singing and dancing knightly at the Shubert Theater in New York for 11 weeks only, through May 4, 2008.

Having sold more than 6 million albums, co-authored a best-selling book, and played 6 sold-out concert tours, Clay is now ready to tackle the Great White Way. "I really couldn't have asked for a more wonderful group of people to work with. Let's not lie, the chance to work with legendary creative minds like Mike Nichols and Eric Idle is, on its own, a reason to jump at this opportunity. But, that's not all. The producers and creative folks I have had the chance to meet and work with so far have been unbelievably welcoming and wonderful. They've really made me feel at home already, and I haven't even started yet!"

Christmas In The Heartland Contest Rules Announced

Clay blogged a few weeks ago in search for your Christmas stories. Rules are now posted on the OFC contest page about how you can submit a Christmas story you will be asked to share at one (or more) of Clay's 2007 Christmas in the Heartland concerts.

It can be any special Christmas story or memory and must be an "elaborative narrative" between 1500 and 2000 words. We have a hard time believing how any concert-banter type story - let alone a Christmas story- can be over 1500 words... not exactly sure what Clay's intentions are here or whether this is just a typo.
