Clay's OMWH MusicPass Hitting Stores This Week

RCA confirms via an email that the MusicPass version of On My Way Here will be hitting stores tomorrow (Tuesday). It will be slowly phased into retail outlets in June and July.

The wait is finally over! The MusicPass Card you helped design will be available to purchase on June 24th! MusicPass Cards make for great gifts and collector's items and always come with a full album download and bonus content not found on the CD! Below is a list of retailers and the dates the cards will be available.

In April, RCA asked fans to vote for their favorite design for the MusicPass version of On My Way Here. RCA is one of the several record labels testing out this new album format, which involves purchasing a card at a music retailer. The card comes with a special code and website link, where you can redeem it for an online download of the album with exclusive content.

Clay's MusicPass Design Unveiled

A few weeks ago, RCA asked you to vote for the design to be used on On My Way Here's MusicPass. The results are in, and ClayAiken.com has the winning design posted:

A MusicPass is a new media being explored by Sony BMG to distribute albums. You can buy MusicPass cards at most music retailers and redeem it a digital download from http://gift.musicpass.com/.

The On My Way Here MusicPass, featuring exclusive content not available on the regular CD, will be in stores June 24.

Fans Pick The Cover For Clay's MusicPass Card....What Is A MusicPass Card? Read on...

Have you ever heard of a musicpass card? I'll bet most of you haven't. So I'm about to educate you as to what a musicpass card is, how you can use it, and how you can vote for the cover of Clay's musicpass card.

A musicpass card, according to the MusicPass website, is:

A wallet-size gift card with a unique PIN code that lets you download a full album plus great other artist materials....The music downloaded through these cards will be playable on all MP3 players, including iPods, and of course on your computer.

Other questions about the card are answered on the Frequently Asked Questions page at MusicPass's site, such as where the card can be purchased and how much it costs.

What is really exciting is that there will be bonus material available on the cards. This will include music videos, artist interviews, bonus audio tracks, and other such things.

Many artists already have cards, such as Elvis Presley, Celine Dion, John Mayer, and Carrie Underwood. And now, Clay is about to have one as well. This is where you, the fans, come into the picture. At clayaiken.com, there are three covers to choose from. Fans are being asked to vote for their favorite and the one with the most votes will be the new cover for Clay's musicpass card. No deadline is mentioned at the site, so I'd hurry over there to vote.
