"Are You Smarter Than A 5th Grader?" Pledge Drive Total Up To $84,051.97
According to Aron Hall from The Buble Aiken Foundation, the pledge drive total in now up to $84,051.97, with an actual donation total of $2,575.50 received as of August 28 at 9 p.m.
"Join in the Fun and Make a Difference" it states on the BAF Pledge Drive page. So have you joined in the fun by making a pledge yet? As for me personally, I plan to add a total of $11 to my initial pledge in honor of the total number of questions that Clay could possibly answer correctly to make a million. We aren't giving out any information about what he actually made for the foundation (although I'm sure most of Claynation knows by now), but I'm so excited about him appearing today and representing BAF, that I felt I had to do something just a little bit more. Anyone else want to do the same thing?
Here is what Aron Hall says at their website about the pledge drive and how to turn in your donation:
"Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader?" Pledge DriveMy bolding is in the paragraph above. Be sure, as it says, to include your Beta Alpha group with your donation if you want to get credit for those donations!

On August 28, Bubel/Aiken Foundation co-founder Clay Aiken is appearing on a taping of a celebrity edition of “Are You Smarter Than a Fifth Grader?” hosted by Jeff Foxworthy on FOX. For more info on the show, click here: http://fox.com/areyousmarter/ .
Beyond receiving the amazing exposure the show will bring, the Foundation will receive at least a $25,000 donation from the show. Anything beyond the $25,000 that Clay earns by answering "elementary" questions will also be donated to the Foundation. He will need to answer 6 questions to get beyond the minimum. 11 questions correct means the Foundation will receive a $1 MILLION check from the show.
The Foundation is asking for pledges for each correct answer Clay gives on the show. Whether it's 50 cents or 100 dollars, every amount will help us get closer to our goal of 100 Let's ALL Play camps in 2008.
If you would like to make a pledge, simply email pledge@bubelaiken.org with your pledge amount. We would like to receive all pledges by August 27. Check back here regularly to see the total climb! After the show, we will announce the number of correct answers (we're going to assume 11) and then you can make your donations online at www.bubelaiken.org or send in a check or money order to:

REMEMBER: Include your Beta Alpha Chapter with your donation in order for your chapter to get the proper credit. Chapters will only receive credit when the donation is received.
Please note that donations of under $25 will need to be made by check or money order. We apologize for the inconvenience.
So whether you decide to get your donation in now or wait until the show is aired (which will be during sweeps week in November), be sure to do whatever you can to support BAF and Clay.
Clay, we're so proud of you for raising these funds for BAF and at the same time showing us just how smart you are!

What...we don't get to see Clay until November???!! I thought I'd read the show would air on Sept. 25th, or something like that. Did it get moved? I swear I can't wait that long! However am I going to remain virginal as to how many questions he got right until November?!
