Interesting Email from Delaware WJBR 99.5 FM
Dear Clay fan,
Thanks for your e-mail and for listening to WJBR-FM. Clay's "Solitaire" did not do very well on the charts and his record company stopped supporting it soon after it's release, which is why you saw it disappear so quickly. His new single, "I Will Carry You" is doing somewhat better and yes, we are currently playing it. We appreciate that you're a big fan of Clay's and appreciate the fact that you've told friends that we're the only station in the area that plays his music on a consistent basis.
As for requests, that is far from the only factor that determines what gets airplay on WJBR-FM. Sales, research and other factors determine what we play and how often we play it. Not to bore you with how the decision making process goes, suffice to say that it's a lot more scientific than it appears.
Again, thanks for listening and for writing to us!
Sincerely,
Michael Waite
