Remember: 65 million people voted for the American Idol. But that doesn't surprise Kyle Walker, a 27-year-old Republican on the Board of Voter Registration. "The reason they vote is they watch American Idol and they are familiar with it," he says. "A large amount of (young people) are disinterested in politics, in the electoral process." So, if we paid half as much attention to what our darling candidates for president were saying as what Clay Aiken was singing -- or if we had Simon Cowell critique their debates -- maybe, just maybe, we'd vote.
