  • AOL Switched - interview with Ruben Studdard -

  • Inside Bay Area - Mentions of the now infamous summer 2007 "plane incident" still popping up -
But the mother refused and, it seems, things got even more unpleasant. The result: the captain of the Continental ExpressJet plane taxied back to the gate and booted Penland and her son off.

The incident came only days after former "American Idol" finalist Clay Aiken fell asleep on a Continental flight, his foot landing on the armrest of the passenger in front of him. The singer claims he was awakened by a quick hit to the chest by the annoyed passenger, prompting an argument and a call to the FBI, although no charges were filed.
  • Christmas tour mentions:
    • Minneapolis-St. Paul Star Tribune -
For each of his four holiday tours, Clay Aiken, "American Idol's" most successful runner-up, has come up with a special wrinkle. This year, he invited fans to write letters about their Christmas celebrations, and four have been chosen to read their words as the Minnesota Orchestra plays behind them. Read an interview with him in Sunday's Arts section. (7:30 p.m. Wed.-Thu., Orchestra Hall, $35-$77.) (J.B.)
  • Random mention in the New York Times - "Fictional character she identifies with: Clay Aiken."
