Tidbits 1/29

ConCLAYve's beautiful post about the dawn of a new year in the Clay nation:
He can relate to these children, because he shares their remarkable resilience. His life has often been a very difficult road, but he has always been a strong person. Without doubt, he has known tremendous sorrow, but he is a man of faith and that is a key to surviving, overcoming, and then thriving. When Clay sings “My heart is happy everywhere,” I believe him.
  • There's a small Clay mention in the current issue of Bop magazine, says the CB's PA4Clay:
Pic of Clay from last year AMA. It asked about Rumors and Clay's was, Is Clay Aiken a Soap Star. The answer was Yes then they went on to explain he was on DOOL. The cute part was this: " Dont worry though. Clay isn't giving up his singing career. WHEW!"
  • Dayton Daily News on Clay's upcoming Kimmel appearance -
Clay Aiken will soon be appearing on a Jimmy Kimmel’s ABC Valentine’s Day special on February 14. According to reports on several websites, Aiken seems to be a popular guest on the late night talk show circuit these days. He’s a hit with audiences and hosts alike. Could it be that the late night hosts avoid asking the tough questions that Aiken has had more than enough of in the couple years? Who knows, but I do have his new album and as much as I love his voice, and I really do, I don’t find myself playing the CD to death like I did his first couple. Hmmmm…
  • Chicago Tribune - not sure if this is a good mention or a bad mention in this football article - "If you had the chance to tackle Celine Dion or Clay Aiken, whom would you choose?"
  • Arizona Republic - recap of last week's American Idol... small Clay mention:
You know who really shocked the heck out me? Bottled blond Porcelana Patino (she's the one who trained from 5 a.m.- 1 p.m. and bared her tummy), and opera geek girl, Rachel Zevita. They both looked like they walked out of the Welcome to the Dollhouse movie. I'm eager to witness their AI transformation into glossy, pristine divas. You know, just like Clay Aiken.
  • Wilkes University The Barron ... this is hilarious:
Kelly Ripa: Her feud with Rosie O'Donnell (the Clay Aiken incident) will reach fever pitch when Rosie calls Kelly a "doody head" live on the air. Two weeks later, Ripa will retaliate by calling Roise "poopy pants" and telling the teacher.
  • More Kelly Ripa from Radar Online.
  • The Alestle - society too obsessed with celebrities -
Lycos, a popular search engine on the Internet, lists their top searches for the past week. MySpace, Pamela Anderson, Paris Hilton, the WWE and Clay Aiken were all in the top 10. Do people not care about subjects with any substance anymore?

  • Marhaven - smear campaign against Clay beginning again whether the source is accurate or just plain misleading.
It is frightening, however, how this smear campaign parallels what is going on around us all the time. When we hear something on Fox news, or anywhere else for that matter, do we take the time to research their sources? Do we even notice if they have even quoted any sources? And, if the piece of news seems cockeyed to us, how many times does it have to be picked up by other media, friends and associates, etc. before we come to believe it is true?
