Tidbits 9/17
Tour mentions from tour venues:
- Morris Auditorium, South Bend, IN:
American Idol favorite CLAY AIKEN will be celebrating the holidays in style at the Morris with “A Clay Aiken Christmas with Symphony.” Multi platinum recording artist CLAY AIKEN emerged from his 2003 American Idol experience with a recording contract, Rolling Stone and Entertainment Weekly magazine covers, and legions of loyal fans. Those fans voted him the Fan’s Choice winner at the 2003 American Music Awards as well as TV Guide’s Fan’s Favorite Reality Star that same year. His first single, “This is the Night/Bridge Over Troubled Water” won the Billboard Music Award for best selling single of 2003…and that was just the beginning. CLAY then hit the charts with the popular single “Invisible,” off his debut CD “Measure of a Man,” followed that up with his first Christmas CD – “Merry Christmas with Love,” and the book Learning to Sing: Hearing The Music In Your Life and his latest CD – “A Thousand Different Ways.” This is one very special concert you won't want to miss. Join us for a night of holiday classics!
- Omaha Symphony -
An unlikely pop star, Clay Aiken has remained steadfast in his desire to remain true to the simple values he learned as a child in Raleigh, North Carolina. “I still live in the town where I grew up,” he says. “I like surrounding myself with people I know and love.” It is this authenticity that his millions of fans have responded to.
The singer’s third CD, A Thousand Different Ways, offers 10 cover versions of love songs, as well as four brand-new songs that are destined to become Aiken classics in their own right.
- Charleston City Paper - Ryan Seacrest kills the Emmy's?
I’m not saying that Ryan Seacrest single-handedly killed The Emmys last night — he obviously had a lot of help. Here’s basically how it went. He came out and tried his standard routine on American Idol, where he looks around and points out celebrities in the audience. The problem, of course, being that he was at the Emmys, so instead of five celebrities (and that includes Clay Aiken), there were hundreds of celebrities (and that includes former Vice President Al Gore). So, Ryan saunters over to the Desperate Housewives section and chats up the ladies.
- The Republican - Chris Daughtry article ...
Chris Daughtry also is the most successful nonwinner of the vaunted "American Idol" television series that has given the world Clay Aiken, Taylor Hicks, Kelly Clarkson, and Carrie Underwood.
- Christmas tour mentions:
- Chexxxy's Pearls alerts us to a sick individual posing as Clay on the internet. FlippinBirds has also picked up the story, with some interesting links about celebrity stalking on the internet ... luckily, Clay isn't the only one being target - From Chexxxy's:
While I compose the next installment, consider this. The Imposters are presenting the image of the exact Clay Aiken that the haters have created. Their version is a drunk, smokes like a chimney, is HIV positive, swears like a sailor, cruises the internet sites for one night stands, cheats on his girlfriend, is confused about his sexuality, is bi-polar and on medication for depression and suicidal thoughts. This is exactly what his detractors have wanted the fans to believe, that he isn't the man we know him to be and the stalker would like the fans to know that he is Clay's confidant and that he talks to him on Instant messages, phone calls and texting.
