Two More Concerts Added to Clay's Christmas Tour

Clay will now be performing an additional show in New York and one in Detroit.

The New York show is in Verona on Monday, December 4 at 8 p.m. at the Turning Stone Resort. There is no information concerning when tickets will be sold. You can check The Turning Stone's website, Calendar section, on the left side of the page for a mention of Clay's concert (scroll down till you get to December 4).

The Detroit show is on Monday, December 18, at the Max M. Fisher Music Center, Orchestra Hall, with the Detroit Symphony. Though the Symphony's site does not list Clay yet, Rainlover at The Clayboard posted the following message:

Posted by nekia at CV:

...Tickets would be on sale this week to season ticket holders only. Apparently something went out in the mail to them. I called the Detroit Symphony today and they confirmed the appearance on the 18th of December and said tickets would go on sale to the public next Monday. I didn't ask how or when they plan to announce this concert.
UPDATE: the Detroit Symphony Orchestra has confirmed this information- tickets go on sale September 18. Tickets, $38-$125, go on sale Monday at 10 a.m. at the box office, by phone at (313) 576-5111 or online.

Keep your eyes open so that if you are interested in going to either of these concerts, you will know when tickets for the general public go on sale. We'll do our best to post that information at CDD when it becomes available.

Pictures of Clay With Quiana's Baby at Quiana's My Space

If you want to see something that is just too precious, head over to Quiana's My Space and look at the pictures of Uncle Clay with Quiana's baby, Chamberlin. When you get to the site, look on the right side of the screen. There are 2 slide shows, both the same, but the bottom one is a bigger slide show. You'll need to watch all the pictures, and there are three of Clay...one with Quiana and Angela and two holding Chamberlin. In one of those, Clay is kissing Chamberlin, which just melted my heart. Chamberlin is newborn in these pictures, but if you keep watching the slideshow, you'll see some of him when he is closer to 3 months old. Just precious, and you can tell that Quiana is one proud mamma!!

Look for Quiana when she will be performing with Clay on Jay Leno's show and Jimmy Kimmel's show (Angela too I believe).

A Tribute To Clay - "My Hero"

I believe at this fifth anniversary of 9/11, many of us remember the many heroes we had that day. We will always be indebted to them for their bravery and willingness to put others first.

Of course, there are many kinds of heroes, those who put their lives in danger's way, those with moral courage who do not give an inch on their convictions, even the daddy of a 5-year-old child who thinks he can do any and everything.

Renei, aka NEixLOVESxCLAY, has written a beautiful piece on her hero, well, our hero, our own Clay Aiken. This was written for a school assignment to write a paragraph on her hero. She chose Mr. Aiken, and, needless to say, her paragraph was VERY long! (Are we surprised?!!)

What Renei wrote is absolutely beautiful and heartfelt. First posted on The Clayboard, she has given me permission to post it here. You will all be touched by the things she says. So, may I present to you Renei's paragraph on Clay Aiken, her hero and our's.

"Sometimes the world needs a voice. Let it be yours."

What makes a hero? Is it the ability to transcend all barriers and touch lives so intimately? Or is it the ability to inspire all who know of your presence in the world? How about the ability to, no matter how many hardships you may encounter, rise from the ashes like the phoenix, and learn from every moment refusing to let it keep you down? Maybe it’s in the way your mere presence makes it seem as though the world is slowly but surely becoming a better place. Whatever the case may be, my hero undoubtedly encompasses all of those things and so many more. Malcolm Stevenson Forbes once said, “To measure the man, measure his heart” and no truer words have ever been spoken. If I were to measure a man, my hero is the essence of what a man should measure up to. He is truly an amazing and brilliant man. Mother Theresa has said that the greatest disease from which mankind is suffering from is not aids or cancer, but rather, the feeling of being unwanted. Through his passion about inclusion of those with intellectual disabilities, he has made others passionate about the same thing, primarily through the formation of The Bubel Aiken Foundation, and now, through his recently appointed position as a part of President Bush’s Committee for the Intellectually Disabled. He may no longer be educating children in a classroom, but what he's doing right now, I believe is so much more important: he's educating a society on the importance of simple human rights. It frightens me that our society is still so closed-minded, but it's because of people like him, that people with disabilities have a fighting chance in our sometimes cruel world. Through his appointment as the UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador and U.S. Fund for UNICEF Ambassador particularly committed to supporting UNICEF's education programs, he is changing the lives of children all over the world already having visited Indonesia shortly after the tsunami in March of 2005 and Uganda in May of 2005. Through the gift of his voice and lively personality, he’s able to touch the lives of millions of people bringing them joy and happiness that many have been without for years, often bringing the young at heart out to play. His kindness and affection towards others is nothing short of awe-inspiring and it is in and of itself amazing. It is in his perseverance to stay true to himself and his beliefs that makes me strive to do the same. It is people like him who will make, or rather, who have made a difference in the world. He's everything a man should be: passionate, intelligent, eloquent, sweet, snarky, silly, compassionate, beautiful & dedicated. My hero is none other than Mr. Clayton Aiken. As we in the fandom like to say,
“Came for the voice, stayed for the man.”

The 5th Anniversary of the World Trade Center/Pentagon Attacks - Remembering

Its hard to believe that it has been five years since the attacks on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon. No doubt that everyone of us will remember where they were and what they were doing when they first heard of the attacks. I had just gotten to work and my supervisor and a foreman were just standing there looking at me. I said, "What?" They asked if I had been watching TV or listening to the radio this morning, which I hadn't. They pointed to the room where we had a small TV. I remember looking at the screen and not knowing what was going on. "What IS this?" Everything was all gray and white and sandy looking. When they told me, I still couldn't fathom what had happened. When I heard that the buildings had fallen, I said," No! That's impossible! Two large buildings like that just collapsing?" I'm sure we all felt that feeling of helplessness, disbelief, and shock.

Watching TV at home that night was even worse, I believe. They were showing all the people holding up pictures of their loved ones, hoping someone had seen them. There were pictures lining the walls all along the streets. Hundreds and hundreds of pictures. It gripped at my heart. I still couldn't imagine that this many people could have been lost. I remember when someone asked Rudy Guilliani how many people he thought had died, and his answer was, "More than we will be able to bear." That statement still brings tears to my eyes.

When I first heard Clay's song, "This is The Night" and the sentence, "When the world wasn't upside down", the first thing I thought of was the attacks on America. I don't know that they had that in mind when they wrote that song two years after the attacks, but I just kept thinking how the world had been turned upside down on September 11, 2001, never to quite be the same again.

We are now in the middle of a beautiful time in Claynation. Clay's CD is about to be released, there are lots of upcoming television programs to watch, seeing Clay so happy at the Star Search show was so heartwarming, pictures and videos galore. I could go on and on. Clay has brought us in the last three years a much needed reprieve from the uglier things in the world. He's brought so much joy to us and given many of us much more meaning to our lives...introducing us to new friends, ways to reach out, and the loving, giving person that he is. We are 1000 times blessed.

However, as we enjoy these wonderful blessings of Clay Fandom, let us not forget the events of September 11, 2001. The people who lost friends and family members. The brave firefighters, policemen, and others who risked their lives, even losing their lives, to save others. The ordinary every day people who made their way to the Trade Center to serve sandwiches and give the firefighters a cold washcloth. And those government officials who I believe are trying as best they can to make our country a safer place to be.

If you want to join a great thread remembering 9/11 go to The Clayboard to read and post your thoughts.

And let us never ever forget.

clayis' note: On behalf of all Claynadians- our thoughts and prayers extend out the the 9/11 families. United we stand.

Okay, so we got see the CD! Like just see it. Jaymes held it up, the back has the picture of Clay on the ledge.
Jaymes said Clay was inside when the picture was taken, but that the glass door was actually open.
She said that this was Clay's personal copy... the CD was actually not in the package... the poster inside is of the new pic of Clay looking down... looks like it is photoshopped to have a blackish brown silk like background.
Jaymes said her two favorite songs are: "Sorry Seems to Be the Hardest Word" and "Lonely No More" (asked about the writing, she said Clay is an amazing lyricist, but that she was not in the room during the writing so can't say how much he contributed but a good amount)

Oh yeah, and ABC was there filming and interviewing.. .to correspond with GMA and *drumroll please* PRIMETIME!!

So yeah, more

Tidbits 9/10

  • Clay's the #5 'mover' on Yahoo's Buzz list. Yahoo searches for terms containing "Clay Aiken" increased 102% during the past 24 hours.
  • Clay's presidential appointment is still making news. He's featured on the homepage on Synmpatico.MSN.ca.
  • Newswire.ca: Che Dorval wins Star Search 2006: "Ché performed for David Foster and celebrity judges, Clay Aiken, Babyface and Daisy Fuentes, and a sold-out crowd with her rendition of the song, "If it
makes you happy" by Sheryl Crow."
  • Indianapolis Star: upcoming CD releases.
  • Toronto Star- presidential appointment mention.
  • United Press International: short ATDW release article.
  • New York Post: good Clay mention --
Clay Aiken's "Claymates" will get satisfaction much earlier. Aiken, the runner-up to Ruben Studdard in the second season, will release his long-overdue third disc, "A Thousand Different Ways," next week.

Aiken stole the season-five finale this spring when - virtually unrecognizable with longer, darker hair and wearing a suit - he thrilled a geeky auditioner by joining him in a duet of Elton John's "Don't Let the Sun Go Down on Me." The new disc will feature 10 covers, including Foreigner's "I Want to Know What Love Is," Dolly Parton's "Here You Come Again" and four original tracks.

While Aiken lost the title to Studdard, the two singers will go at it again, taking their musical battle to the charts. Studdard, 27, releases his third disc, "The Return of the Velvet Teddy Bear," Sept. 26. His debut, "Soulful," went platinum - but Aiken's debut, "Measure of a Man," went triple platinum and holds the title of having the biggest sales week, 613,000 copies, of any "Idol" alum album.

Clay's People Magazine Cover & Primetime Interview

The news keeps on pouring in! A rumour surfaced last night about the possibility of another Primetime interview with ABC's Diane Sawyer. Today, we're learning that Clay may be gracing the cover of People magazine in the near future. This was posted by the CB's UntoldDarkness last night. The information here has since been confirmed. Claymates in Vancouver confirm ABC News crews were interviewing Clay fans about projects such as Penny Lane.

ote that this is a rumor, but a friend of mine read on the OFC by a poster ( Misty ) that Clay is going to be on the cover of People magazine sometime soon, probably the week after next, and a Primetime Live Special.

She said "This show to air on Bravo in two weeks!" -- Not sure if she was referring to the Primetime Live special, as she said the quote after she noted a possible tour in early 2007.

So, take this with a grain of salt if you will, but I'm a glass half full kind of girl. :thumbup

Thank you to Starcrossdclaym8 for bringing this to my attention.

It has been confirmed -- Thanks you guys!

I checked the People Magazine site, but could only find info. on next weeks issue, which is the special on Steve Irwin.

BREAKING NEWS: Album Packaging, ABC Taping In Vancouver

Some wonderful news from the CH's AprilJoy who is in Vancouver right now for the Star Search Competition. She says Exec Producer Jaymes Foster-Levy showed everyone the new CD and that ABC is taping with Clay in Vancouver for Clay's scheduled Sept. 19 Good Morning America appearance and an upcoming Primetime Interview. WOW!

RiverRock Update

Okay y'all, I think I'm going back down to have dinner now.
But I wanted to add a couple of things.

I touched the CD, just held it for a second. surprise, it felt like a CD. heh.

Faye said all the songs are her favorite, typical. And that Clay loved Spaghetti as a kid, the only way he would eat it is if she mader her own sauce, nothing from the jar. Jaymes seemed genuinely touched by the fan support, and really encouraged us to read about David's Charity as well as keep up with Clay's. They both were so great to be there and just hang with the fans.

ABC filmed the group and then interviewed the two teenage fans who put together the gathering and then interviewed KellyBond about Penny lane. I left after that so I'm not sure what all went down after that.

So yeah, more news when it comes.
