"Granted, plenty of people devote their lives to contestants that they've come to know and love. But on 'Idol,' and Clay Aiken is the best example of this, there's a response there, a level of engagement, that can't be rivaled. It almost borders on obsession."
While winners like Carrie Underwood, Fantasia and Kelly Clarkson have gone on to solid recording careers, even also-rans have succeeded. Clay Aiken is among the best-selling of the former "Idols," and Jennifer Hudson, a finalist on the show in Season 3, landed a key supporting role in "Dreamgirls," considered an early Oscar favorite.
Canoe.ca - I certainly hope this changes in this year... Let's hope Clay's got some good new material to work with for the third album!

He continues to be dogged by questions about his sexuality and caused a ripple last year when he placed his hand over the mouth of TV host Kelly Ripa.
Chronicle Herald (Canada) - article about a talent contest - "Like American Idol runner-up Clay Aiken, Millett was a wild card entrant to the finals of the Halifax Laugh Off at the Halifax Yuk Yuk’s club in December."
Metropolis Technology press release about their technology being used at last year's American Music Awards. Clay presented an award with actress Tori Spelling. (very small Clay tidbit)
